In our December issue of the Well Aware Newsletter, we want to share with you some highlights from local delivery communities and what we are doing at Well Aware.
new wells are properly constructed by a licensed contractor and located a safe distance from contaminants
existing wells are properly inspected, maintained, and upgraded as necessary by a licensed contractor
potential contaminants are kept a safe distance from your well
well water is regularly tested for bacteria, and is screened initially and periodically for other contaminants
unused wells are properly plugged and sealed by a licensed contractor

The Well Aware booklet is a valuable tool to inform well owners about well stewardship and groundwater protection.
Please note that you can order bulk shipments of Well Aware booklets from Green Communities Canada. Each box contains 150 booklets. Well Aware Community Forums Well Aware Community Forums are held in neighbourhoods across the province. These gatherings give well owners an opportunity to hear directly from well experts and ask questions in a friendly setting.
